Max W. Doughten, 56, of Nashville, TN, entered the Gates of Heaven on May 12, 2017. Max is survived by his wife of 36 years, Angela Lynn Chapman Doughten, to whom he was a loving and devoted husband. He spent most of his time the last 7 years helping to care for her in the nursing facility where she is a patient. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Lou Finney Doughten, of Nashville, TN; brother David (Mary) Finney of Bowling Green, KY; brothers-in-law, Tony (Darlene Arterburn) Chapman of Antioch, TN, and David (Mary)...

Max W. Doughten, 56, of Nashville, TN, entered the Gates of Heaven on May 12, 2017. Max is survived by his wife of 36 years, Angela Lynn Chapman Doughten, to whom he was a loving and devoted husband. He spent most of his time the last 7 years helping to care for her in the nursing facility where she is a patient. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Lou Finney Doughten, of Nashville, TN; brother David (Mary) Finney of Bowling Green, KY; brothers-in-law, Tony (Darlene Arterburn) Chapman of Antioch, TN, and David (Mary) Chapman of Goodlettsville, TN; as well as 6 nieces & nephews. Max is preceded in death by his father, Charles G. Doughten; brothers Charles Greg Doughten, Jr. and Terry Ray "Bubba" Doughten; and sister Sherry Fay Doughten. Max was a graduate of Hume-Fogg High School where he played varsity football. He was employed for 19 years at Opryland Hotel, followed by employment at other hospitality venues. He enjoyed playing drums and did so in a family band for many years. Visitation for friends and family will be held at Eastland Funeral Home, 904 Gallatin Pike, Nashville from 11-2 pm on Sat. May 20, 2017. Services will be conducted by Andrew Blondo, an associate pastor at Grace Baptist Church at 2 pm and interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
